A little coffee ritual for one: the 12-ounce Bodum Chambord
A small press is appealing when you want to make your own coffee without setting up a whole appliance corner. Check the size by volume, not the word “cups.”

Three cups does not mean three large mugs
Bodum labels its small 0.35-litre Chambord as a three-cup, 12-ounce press. Its cup naming uses small European coffee servings, not three full-sized mugs. The selected Amazon listing is the 12-ounce Chrome model.
Look at the mug you use and the amount you normally drink. Leave the headroom required by the brewing instructions. If your plan already depends on filling the press to its absolute capacity, compare a larger version rather than trying to stretch this one.
Enjoy the method as well as the object
A French press is a hands-on steeping method: you add coffee and water, wait, then lower the plunger as directed. The metal frame and glass carafe give Chambord its familiar appearance, but the daily routine is the part you will live with.
Use the maker’s grind, filling and pressing instructions. Put the press on a stable surface, handle the hot water carefully and do not force a stuck plunger. A small carafe is still hot glass, not something to rush through while balancing it over the sink.
Include the grounds in the cleanup plan
Think about where the used grounds will go and how the filter assembly will be cleaned. Keep the routine easy enough that you will do it after the coffee, rather than finding yesterday’s grounds when you want the next cup.
Check the specific model’s care and replacement-part information. Chambord appears in different sizes, finishes and materials, so a similar-looking listing is not enough to establish that the same replacement glass will fit.
Small press or pour-over?
Choose this when steeping a modest batch appeals and you do not want paper filters to be part of each brew. Choose the V60 approach if you would rather pour through a paper filter and enjoy controlling that process. Think about which routine you would look forward to on an ordinary morning.
For a gift, think about the recipient’s mug, counter space and willingness to clean a press. A small, well-matched coffee ritual is more thoughtful than a larger machine they never wanted. Buy the size that fits the person, not the most impressive cup count on the box.
