Useful guidance needs honest foundations.
Our standards for the guides and recommendations we are preparing.
Start with a reader problem
Content should help a defined reader make a decision or solve a practical problem. A commission opportunity alone is not a reason to publish a recommendation.
Evidence, not invented experience
Our publication standard requires material factual claims to be traceable to recorded sources. We distinguish manufacturer specifications, independent sources, calculations, and any genuine hands-on observations. Research must not be described as product testing.
Clear comparisons and limitations
Guides should explain who an option fits, the criteria used to compare it, meaningful trade-offs, and what is uncertain. We do not invent reviews, ratings, quotations, credentials, ownership, or personal experience.
Dates and changing information
Published guides show verification dates. Specifications, availability, compatibility, prices, and offers can change. A date does not promise ongoing monitoring. Pages that can no longer support current claims should be updated, labeled historical, or withdrawn.
AI-assisted work
Software and AI tools may assist with research organization, drafting, and graphics. They do not replace factual evidence or required review. Original illustrations are identified as illustrations, not proof of a product’s appearance or performance.
Commercial transparency
Affiliate relationships will be disclosed near recommendations. Compensation must not override reader needs or documented comparison criteria. See how affiliate links work.
Corrections
Send the page URL, the claim in question, and any supporting source to our contact form. We will evaluate corrections and amend or remove material when appropriate.
These are the standards for our developing editorial workflow. This first site version has no published product recommendations or completed hands-on reviews.
